    A Day in the Life of a Formulary Management Team Lead:

     

    This position works under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Operations, and is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day functions of the MeridianRx Formulary Management team. The Team Lead coordinates with their team and MeridianRx departments to implement, monitor and oversee formulary enhancements that promote clinically sound and financially driven formularies. The Formulary Team Lead ensures change requests are properly reviewed and disseminated for implementation.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the formulary change requests are thoroughly reviewed clinically and financially prior to implementation
    • Monitor timeliness and thoroughness of implementation of formulary changes requested
    • Responsible to ensure the annual creation of Medicare formularies and subsequent submissions
    • Responsible for the creation and submission of PA/ST criteria (Medicare)
    • Ensure that the formularies for all new clients are loaded into Atlas
    • Collaborate with Account Management to coordinate formulary tool trainings with clients
    • Ensure that QA Assessments are completed on all formularies. This needs to occur each time a new formulary is loaded, updated and at the beginning of each calendar year via CE 2000
    • Ensure all current versions for all formularies are submitted to Share Point, Epocrates, and the client website after each new version is approved
    • Monitor formulary inboxes to ensure work is completed and accounted for
    • Collaborate with outside Clients as necessary
    • Support and mentor formulary analysts
    • Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the pharmacy operations
    • Perform assigned tasks according to established guidelines
    • Ensure compliance with all company, state and federal rules and regulations
    • Be well versed in client contracts as it pertains to formulary management
    • Assist with RFPs as needed
    • Assists with special projects

    Qualifications

    What you can bring to MeridianRx:

    • High school diploma is required.
    • Pursuit of Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree or Fellow designation from the Academy for Healthcare Management (AHM) is preferred.
    • Experience in a Managed Care environment is preferred
    • Experience in MERLIN is preferred
    • Computer/data entry skills; experience in data warehouse, database, word processing and spreadsheet applications
    • Ability to work with minimal management oversight on multiple projects with competing priorities
    • Basic knowledge of drug products, dosage forms and usage, as well as retail pharmacy operations
    • Basic knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology
